Professional Language Solutions
Our Service
Translation tells people what you said. Localization makes them feel like you said it for them. There’s a bigger gap between those two things than most businesses expect — and that gap is exactly where we work.
About This Service
A company spends months getting their website right — then translates it for a new market and something gets lost. The words are correct, but the feeling is gone. People can tell.
At Elephanta, our in-country linguists live in the markets they localize for. They know what lands and what doesn’t.
Every project gets cultural review, not just language review.
Specializations
Different platforms have different requirements. Here’s how we approach each one — and why the approach matters.
Your website isn’t just text. It’s UI labels, metadata, image alt tags, date formats, currency symbols, button copy, error messages, and a hundred small details that collectively tell a visitor whether they’re in the right place. Get most of it right and still miss the small things, and the experience feels slightly off — which is enough to lose someone.
We handle full website localization from front-end content to backend strings — including culturally appropriate image choices, local SEO optimization, hreflang setup, and format adaptation for date, time, and currency. The goal is a website that ranks in local search and reads like it was built for that market.
Apps come with challenges that document translation doesn’t — character limits, right-to-left text rendering, UI elements that need to resize when German words turn out to be twice as long as their English equivalents, locale-specific date and number formats built into the code itself. These aren’t just language problems. They’re technical ones.
Our localization engineers work alongside our linguists to handle string extraction, UI resizing, locale testing, and format handling for iOS, Android, SaaS platforms, and desktop software. We work with all major localization management platforms including Phrase, Lokalise, and others — and we can plug into your existing development workflow rather than forcing you to change it.
Selling internationally is harder than it looks. The product listing that converts well in the US might read completely wrong in Japan. Checkout flows that feel intuitive in one market can feel confusing in another. Customer communications that sound friendly in English might come across as too casual — or too formal — in a different cultural context.
We adapt product descriptions, category pages, checkout content, promotional messaging, customer service templates, and marketing banners for local buying behaviour, local regulations, and local expectations. This isn’t translation with a currency swap. It’s a proper adaptation of your commerce experience for each market you’re entering.
Marketing content is probably the hardest category to localize well. The reason is that marketing copy depends heavily on wordplay, cultural reference, emotional association, and tone — none of which carry directly across languages. A tagline that works brilliantly in English might be flat, confusing, or unintentionally funny in another language.
What marketing content needs isn’t translation — it’s transcreation. Our team rewrites ad copy, social media content, campaign materials, and brand messaging from the ground up in the target language, keeping the intent and the emotional direction of the original while producing something that genuinely resonates with the local audience. The brief guides it. The local linguist owns the output.
Corporate training content has its own localization requirements. Cultural references that work for one workforce don’t always land with another. Examples that feel relatable in one country can feel irrelevant or even inappropriate somewhere else. And beyond content, there are technical considerations — LMS compatibility, audio sync for narrated modules, subtitle timing, and on-screen text that needs to fit within existing design layouts.
We localize training modules, LMS content, instructional videos, compliance training, and onboarding materials — with cultural review built into the process, not just language conversion. The goal is learner engagement in the target market, not just a technically accurate version of what the original said.
Video content, interactive media, and digital experiences present a different kind of challenge. Subtitles have to fit within character limits and sync with what’s being said. On-screen text has to be adapted without breaking the design. UI overlays in interactive content need to respond correctly in the target language — which sometimes means rethinking layout entirely when text expands.
We handle subtitle creation and adaptation, on-screen text localization, UI overlays, and interactive media elements across platforms and formats. Every deliverable is reviewed for both accuracy and experience — because a subtitle that’s technically correct but appears at the wrong moment, or on-screen text that overflows its container, still represents a failure to the person watching it.

FAQs
Translation converts text from one language to another. Localization adapts the entire experience — the tone, the cultural references, the date and currency formats, the images, even the layout in some cases — so that the end result feels like it was created for the target market rather than moved across from somewhere else. For a document submitted to a court or embassy, translation is what you need. For a website, app, or marketing campaign, localization is what will actually work.
Most of them. HTML, XML, JSON, XLIFF, PO/POT, CSV, RESX, iOS strings, Android XML — we handle the common development formats directly. For CMS platforms, we work with WordPress, Shopify, Webflow, and others. If your content is on a platform you don’t see listed here, ask — we’ve likely worked with it or can accommodate it without making you change your workflow.
It’s a separate workstream that runs alongside the content localization. We do market-specific keyword research in the target language, adapt meta titles and descriptions, review URL structures, and optimize on-page content for local search behaviour. In markets where Google isn’t the primary search engine — like China, Russia, or South Korea — we optimize for the relevant local engine instead. SEO localization isn’t something we bolt on at the end. It’s part of the process from the beginning.
Yes. We work in a staging environment or directly through your CMS localization workflow — whichever causes the least disruption to your live site. Nothing goes live until you’ve reviewed and approved it. Once sign-off is complete, we either handle the deployment or hand off the localized content in whatever format your team needs to push it live.
Every project is assigned to linguists who are based in the target market and working in it day-to-day. They review content for cultural appropriateness alongside language accuracy — flagging idioms that don’t travel, references that won’t land, visuals that might carry unintended meaning, and anything that would feel out of place to a local reader. Language accuracy and cultural fit are reviewed separately because they’re genuinely different things.
Tell us where you’re going and what you’re working with. We’ll come back to you with a clear picture of what the localization involves, what it’ll cost, and how long it’ll take — before you commit to anything.
No vague estimates. No surprises halfway through. Just a realistic plan from people who’ve done this across a lot of markets.
